PORSCHE 911 996 Convertible Tiptronic S
The Car – The Porsche 996 model was first launched in 1996 at the Geneva motor show as the first water cooled 911. The car kept the fantastic flat six engine mounted in the rear and was massively updated from its air cooled predecessor being a more streamline design and with larger proportions. The car benefitted from the new Tiptronic automatic gearbox as an option making it for a leisurely drive round town, but when you had the urge to drive it more enthusiastically you could switch it into manual mode.
This example was first registered in 2001 and is a low mileage example having only covered 65000 miles from new.The Silver metallic paintwork with the light Grey leather sets the car off and being finished with the Navy Blue soft top is one of the best colour combinations for this car. The 3.4 flat six engine gives plenty of power when required yet is smooth in its acceleration through the tiptronic gearbox. The car has a full service history and is accompanied with all the books and manuals, spare key and locking wheel nut.
The car has been cherished throughout its life and more recently has had a full service by ourselves, the wheels have been freshly refurbished to the correct Porsche silver and wears a good set of nearly new Michelin tyres. Inside the car is very good condition showing only slight wear but gives the car the patina you would expect of a 20 year old car.
The car is fitted with the correct period Porsche Radio Cassette and optional six disc CD player allowing you to enjoy your music whilst driving down your favourite roads or exploring new ones.. The car is fitted with electric windows and door mirrors, trip computer and partial electric seats allowing you to. get into a comfortable driving position.
The Navy Blue soft top shows little wear and the mechanism moves smoothly and without fuss making putting the roof up a cinch. Accompanying the roof is the original wind deflector an accessory which often goes astray over the years and the original Colour coded hardtop making it a car for all seasons.
