All wheel drive
The 911 (993) Turbo’s all-wheel drive system uses a viscous coupling. This varies the power flow depending on the road surface and driving conditions. Power to the front wheels is varied from 5% to 35% in normal driving conditions. (up to a maximum of 40% if required) Therefore ensuring maximum grip and handling. The electronic limited slip differential provides further traction at speeds below 40 mph.
Power
The 408 hp produced by the 911 Turbo, combined with the four-wheel drive package guarantees safe use of the car’s performance. The Porsche engineers were particularly proud of its power-to-weight ratio of approximately 274bhp/ tonne. Also of its staggering 540 Nm of maximum torque at 4,500 rpm. Acceleration is stunning, from 0 – 100 km/h in 4.0 secs flat. It stops from 120 mp/h to standstill in the same time. This car only needs a fraction of the braking time, and distance, required by other vehicles.
The Porsche 993 Turbo has reduced ground clearance, and a fixed rear spoiler with an additional lip to ensure optimum air flow over the car. To the driver, this attention to correct design delivers outstanding road holding.
History
This particular car has been well looked after by its previous owners and covered the majority of its mileage in the 90’s and early 2000’s. In the last 14 years it has done less than 1000 miles per year. Meticulously maintained by its previous owners this amazing car has a mixture of Porsche and specialist history. Most recently being looked after by a well known restorer/ specialist on the south coast and lastly by us here at Modern Classics.

Our valeting team also carried out a full interior (12 hour) and exterior (10 hour) detail. This includes ceramic coating of the car to ensure it is absolutely perfect. A new Porsche Classic communication system has been fitted which gives the ease of modern Nav, apple car play and phone in a period looking unit.
The car also had replacement turbos in 2019 plus very recent tyres.
Driveability
We tested this Porsche 993 Turbo extensively when the current owner Brought it to us to be looked after. We can honestly say it drives without fault. No squeaks, rattles or knocks from the interior or exterior. The suspension, gearbox and most importantly engine are all without issue. All electrics work perfectly and we have even replaced a few minor switches and heater controls to ensure total reliability.
The paintwork is flawless as are the wheels and underside. This is truly a car which you could collect from us and tour around Europe for the summer (if we were allowed!) without so much as a hiccup.
